Installation

To install this plug-in copy the file piwhite.dll  and included documentation into the Astroart program directory.  No further installation or setup steps are required.  When AstroArt was running during the installation, please restart the program to activate the plug-in

 

Usage

The plug-in will only operate on color images

To adjust the white balance of an image, select multiple points on the image that are to become white in the new image. 

Start the plug-in by selecting it from the drop down list in the Tools – Plug-ins menu item.  The plug-in will show as “Whitepoint

The program will then determine the “average” white correction needed to make these stars look white in your image.

Next releases will focus on improvement of the algorithm using more statistical methods instead of just averaging the RGB values and using the average value to correct the whole picture
