MODELS

This driver supports all Canon(TM) cameras driven by RemoteCapture (300D, 10D, 1D, 30D, 60D, Ixy, Powershot, etc.). For the camera driven by EOS Capture (350D, 20D, MarkII, etc.) use the other driver in the zip archive.

QUICK SETUP

This plugin requires the Canon software "RemoteCapture" which is included in the "Solution disk" bundled with your digital camera. Follow this procedure to setup your system:

  1. Open RemoteCapture, click Menu File/Preferences and create a temporary folder to place the images, example: "C:\CanonTemp". Click OK.

  2. If the camera is not connected, connect it and click the "Connect" button.

  3. Open Astroart, click Menu Tools/Plugins/CCD camera, select "CANON" and click "Check CCD"

  4. In the Setup dialog window write (or select) the same temporary folder you set in RemoteCapture.

  5. In "Shutter control" select "Software RemoteCapture".

  6. In "Download complete" select "Automatic" and click OK.

  7. Start an exposure in Astroart, the image should appear in a few seconds.

  8. If the image is not visible change the "Download complete" as described in the next section.

OPTIONS

BINNING

Here you can select three binning modes from your camera: Default is "Small/Normal" which is fast and excellent for focus, "Large/Fine" and "RAW". If you are not using the english version of RemoteCapture you must translate them according to your software. Currently this option is not supported for EOS Capture.
Astroart for every mode adds an extra binning factor:
