ABOUT

This plugin connects with RC-Astro Stand-Alone tools, a software suite (BlurXterminator, NoiseXterminator, StarXterminator) for advanced image sharpening, image denoising and star removal. See: https://www.rc-astro.com/.

RC-ASTRO INSTALLATION

If you don't have the tools, visit the web site: https://www.rc-astro.com/ and request a demo version. It's also possible to install only one of the three tools.
After the installation, open the terminal and launch rc-astro.exe to verify that everything is OK.

PLUGIN INSTALLATION

To install this plugin (after having installed RC-Astro Stand-Alone, see above) copy the files pircastro.dll, p64ircastro.dll and this guide (Plugin-RCAstro-Readme.htm) into the Astroart installation directory, usually C:\ProgramFilesX86(..)\Astroart.

USAGE

In Astroart, click the menu Plugins, then click: RC-Astro BXT NXT SXT.
About the parameters, visit the RC-Astro web site, then click "INFO" for documentation and tutorials.

As a first test, use an image smaller than 2000x2000 pixels, because the processing may take a while and cannot be stopped. You may also crop a region from your image.
If you have a slow GPU, try also the option "CPU only" to execute the filters on the CPU. Usually the speed is still acceptable.
